HISTORY OF THE MTOA
The Kansas City Metro Tactical Officers Association (MTOA) was established in 1989
by Sergeant Steve Smith (Now Capt. Steve Smith) of the Lenexa KS Police Department.  At that time seven different agencies representing sixty officers became the cornerstone of an organization that has grown to over 1000 members from over 75 law enforcement agencies.   All support staff and instructors are law enforcement professionals who donate their time and talents for the betterment of the communities they serve.
